Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Meets Sri Lankan President in Colombo, Reaffirms Strong Bilateral Ties

New Delhi/ Colombo : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a “fruitful” meeting with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Colombo today.

Singh, on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, conveyed his best wishes and congratulated President Dissanayake on his government successfully completing two years in office.

The Defence Minister said India and Sri Lanka, as civilisational cousins, close neighbours and maritime partners, reaffirmed their commitment to working together for the development of both countries and the well-being of their people.

The two sides also reiterated their shared commitment to ensuring security, safety, peace and prosperity in the region.
