New Delhi : BJP National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Vinod Tawde said the party has planned a nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, expanding its annual ‘Seva Pakhwada’ into a month-long campaign this year to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and commemorate 25 years of his public life.

Tawde was speaking to the media after the first meeting of the BJP’s newly appointed national office-bearers. He said the meeting was followed by a workshop involving state presidents, organisational general secretaries and teams of seven to eight members from each state, who will coordinate the upcoming campaign.

He said the BJP traditionally observes ‘Seva Pakhwada’ from September 17, the Prime Minister’s birthday, with party workers participating in various public service activities. This year, however, the programme will be expanded into the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, which will run across the country for an entire month.

Campaign to Highlight Spirit of Service

According to Tawde, the decision has been linked to an important milestone in PM Modi’s public life. He said October 7, 2026, will mark 25 years since Narendra Modi first took oath as Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001.

He said the extended campaign will seek to highlight the values of service, dedication and ‘nation first’ associated with Modi’s public life through a series of welfare and community-oriented activities.

‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ to Help People Access Government Schemes

Tawde announced that one of the key components of the campaign will be the ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’.

Under the initiative, people who may not have benefited from government welfare schemes introduced during PM Modi’s tenure will be assisted at the block level. Those eligible can bring the required documents, complete the prescribed forms and seek inclusion in the appropriate government schemes.

The programme is intended to help bridge the gap between beneficiaries and welfare initiatives by assisting eligible people with the application process.

Anganwadi Workers to Be Honoured

Another component of the campaign will focus on Anganwadi workers. BJP workers will organise programmes to honour women working at Anganwadi centres and interact with them as part of a ‘Anganwadi Samman and Matru Samvad’ initiative.

Tawde highlighted the contribution of Anganwadi workers towards child nutrition, early care and the upbringing of children, saying their work deserves wider recognition.

Youth Invited to Share Their ‘Contribution to Service’

The BJP will also launch a programme titled ‘Seva Mein Mera Yogdaan’, under which young people and members of the public will be encouraged to participate in acts of public service and share short videos or reels of their efforts.

Tawde said the objective is to inspire others to participate in community service and demonstrate that every individual can make a contribution to society.

He said the various activities planned under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan are intended to take the message of public service to people across the country and highlight the Prime Minister’s 25-year journey in public life through a wider programme of social and welfare activities.
