Gurugram: Welcoming the Haryana Government’s initiative to introduce a daily five-minute ‘Y-Break’ (Yoga Break at the Workplace) in industrial units, Progressive Federation of Trade and Industry (PFTI) Chairman Deepak Maini described it as a progressive and forward-looking step towards improving the physical, mental and emotional well-being of workers and employees.
Maini said workers in the industrial sector often spend long hours at their workplaces, making short breaks involving yoga and physical exercises useful in reducing stress, improving concentration and enhancing overall work efficiency.
He noted that the government’s provision of one trained person for every 50 employees in each shift would help ensure the effective implementation of the initiative across industrial establishments.
“Healthy workers are the foundation of a strong industry and a strong economy,” Maini said, urging industrial units to adopt the Y-Break not merely as a government directive but as an important component of worker welfare and a healthy workplace culture.
He added that promoting yoga and health awareness in industrial workplaces could generate positive energy among employees, while also contributing to a healthier work environment and improved productivity.
Maini said PFTI would continue to support and promote health and welfare initiatives aimed at improving the interests and well-being of workers as well as strengthening the industrial sector.
