Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai has alleged that the BJP government is attempting to prevent Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi from holding a scheduled dialogue with students in Prayagraj on August 8.
Addressing the media, Ajay Rai claimed that permission for the venue where the student interaction was to be held had initially been granted but was later cancelled.
He alleged that the state government was making every effort to stop the programme from taking place. According to Rai, similar attempts were made earlier in Kota, Rajasthan, and Dehradun, Uttarakhand, but those programmes were eventually held.
Ajay Rai asserted that the BJP government would ultimately have to grant permission for the student dialogue in Prayagraj and alleged that it could not suppress the voice of Rahul Gandhi or the country’s youth.
No response from the Uttar Pradesh government or the local administration was immediately available regarding these allegations.
