New Delhi, August 5: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla held a detailed meeting with Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment Mansukh Mandaviya to discuss measures aimed at strengthening sports infrastructure and healthcare facilities in the Kota-Bundi region.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the construction of two new athletics tracks in Kota, expansion and modernization of sports infrastructure, development of state-of-the-art training facilities for athletes, ensuring the availability of essential sports resources, and further enhancing sports infrastructure with the 2030 Commonwealth Games in mind.
Highlighting the region’s sporting potential, Om Birla referred to Kota’s athlete Arundhati Chaudhary, who recently won a gold medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, and said efforts are being made to create an environment that enables talented sportspersons from Kota-Bundi to excel at national and international competitions and bring laurels to the country.
The meeting also reviewed healthcare facilities in Kota’s Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Hospital. Discussions included the expeditious recruitment to vacant posts, installation of modern medical equipment and advanced machines, and measures to improve quality healthcare services for workers and the general public.
