Congress MP Shashi Tharoor Meets Dr. Jitendra Singh, Discusses Research Collaboration in Thiruvananthapuram

New Delhi : Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor held a meeting at Parliament House, where they discussed a range of issues, including a proposal to strengthen scientific research collaboration in Thiruvananthapuram.

Sharing details of the meeting, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that Congress MP Shashi Tharoor called on him at his Parliament House chamber. He described the interaction as a “lively conversation” covering several subjects of mutual interest, including some of Tharoor’s recent writings.

Following the meeting, Shashi Tharoor said they had an excellent discussion on his proposal to establish a coordinated and collaborative research cluster involving the eight scientific and research institutions in Thiruvananthapuram.

Tharoor said he was pleased that Dr. Jitendra Singh supported the idea and was willing to discuss it further with the Kerala Chief Minister to explore how it could be developed as an example of Centre-State cooperation, with projects designed and led by the participating institutions.

The Congress MP added that he looks forward to continuing the discussions in Thiruvananthapuram to take the proposal forward.
