Gurugram : The Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) has made it mandatory for all payments related to sanitation works under the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Branch to be processed exclusively through the SWM Portal, in a move aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and digital monitoring.
The directive, issued by Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, has come into effect immediately and applies to all sanitation-related activities undertaken by the corporation.
According to the order, payments for door-to-door waste collection, waste transportation, secondary collection points, and all other sanitation works under the SWM Branch will now be processed only through the SWM Portal. No recommendations, approvals, or release of payments related to sanitation work will be permitted outside the portal under any circumstances.
The order authorises the Additional Municipal Commissioner-cum-Cluster Head to process all sanitation-related payments through the SWM Portal. It also directs Joint Commissioners, Executive Engineer (SBM), Senior Sanitary Inspectors, Sanitary Inspectors, and other concerned officials to ensure that all work records, measurements, approvals, work completion status, penalty deductions, and other required details are fully updated on the portal before initiating the payment process.
The Chief Accounts Officer has been instructed to ensure that no sanitation-related payment is released unless it has been duly processed and approved through the SWM Portal.
Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said the corporation is committed to promoting technology-driven governance to strengthen transparency and accountability in sanitation management. He noted that the digital payment system would create a comprehensive electronic record of every sanitation project, enabling effective monitoring, quality assessment, and greater financial transparency.
He directed all concerned officials to strictly comply with the new instructions. The order also makes it clear that any negligence or violation of the directive will attract administrative action, with the concerned officer being held personally accountable.
