New Delhi/Perth: India’s High Commissioner to Australia, Nagesh Singh, met Professor Amit Chakma, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Western Australia (UWA), at the university’s campus in Perth to discuss expanding academic and research collaboration between India and Australia.

During the meeting, the two leaders explored opportunities to strengthen India–Australia education and research partnerships, with a focus on enhancing institutional linkages, promoting student mobility, and encouraging collaborative research initiatives.

The discussions also highlighted the University of Western Australia’s growing engagement with India, reflecting the increasing momentum in higher education cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of deeper collaboration between Indian and Australian universities in advancing innovation, academic excellence, knowledge exchange and people-to-people ties.
