New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated ‘Arpan’, a donation centre for old clothes, at Punjabi Bagh West Metro Station, launching an initiative aimed at promoting sustainable waste management and community participation.

According to the Chief Minister, similar ‘Arpan’ centres will be established at 10 Delhi Metro stations, where donated clothes will be reused, recycled and upcycled instead of being discarded.

She said the initiative is designed to support environmental conservation while also generating livelihood opportunities for women through the collection, processing and reuse of clothing.

Rekha Gupta appealed to citizens to donate their old but usable clothes at the ‘Arpan’ centres and contribute to the public participation campaign for a cleaner and more sustainable Delhi.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by MLA Kailash Gangwal, other public representatives, and officials from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
