New Delhi: Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Ambassador Sibi George, hosted a welcome dinner for a delegation of Permanent Representatives to the United Nations who are on a week-long familiarisation visit to India.
During the interaction, Ambassador George shared India’s perspectives on multilateralism and the United Nations, highlighting the country’s commitment to a rules-based international order, constructive global cooperation and reforms aimed at making multilateral institutions more representative and effective.
The visit provides the UN envoys with an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into India’s priorities, development initiatives and foreign policy outlook, while strengthening engagement with representatives from the international diplomatic community.
Ambassador George welcomed the delegation and wished its members a productive and enriching stay in India, expressing confidence that the visit would further enhance mutual understanding and deepen dialogue on issues of global importance.
