New Delhi: The Delhi Government, under the direction of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has approved an increase of up to 100 per cent in the remuneration of personnel serving under the Delhi State Disaster Management Authority (DSDMA).

The decision benefits Project Officers, District Project Officers and Project Coordinators, who have been playing a key role in disaster preparedness and emergency response across the national capital.

According to the government, the honorarium of these professionals had remained unchanged for the past 16 years, despite their continued service in managing disasters, emergencies and crisis situations in Delhi.

The government said the revision is a long-awaited measure aimed at providing fair recognition to the dedicated efforts of disaster management personnel while improving their welfare and morale.

Officials added that the enhanced remuneration is also expected to strengthen Delhi’s disaster preparedness and response mechanism by motivating personnel responsible for planning, coordination and implementation of disaster management initiatives.

The Delhi Government said the move reflects its commitment to supporting frontline disaster management professionals and reinforcing the capital’s capacity to respond effectively to natural and man-made emergencies.
