New Delhi: Members of the INDIA Bloc staged a protest at Makar Dwar in the Parliament complex, intensifying pressure on the Centre over the ongoing examination controversy and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Carrying placards and raising slogans, Opposition MPs accused the government of failing to ensure transparency and accountability in the country’s examination system. The protest was aimed at highlighting concerns over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and the government’s handling of the issue.
The Opposition leaders asserted that the government must accept responsibility for the examination crisis and demanded that Dharmendra Pradhan step down as Education Minister, holding him accountable for what they described as administrative failures affecting millions of students across the country.
The INDIA Bloc MPs also reiterated their demand for a detailed discussion in Parliament on the examination system, paper leak allegations and the impact of these issues on students and their families. According to the protesting members, Parliament is the appropriate forum to address concerns related to the future of India’s youth and to seek answers from the government.
The protest at Makar Dwar formed part of the Opposition’s broader campaign seeking greater accountability, transparency and reforms in the examination process. The MPs maintained that they would continue to raise the issue both inside and outside Parliament until their demands are addressed.
The government has maintained that it is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent examination system and has taken several measures to strengthen examination security. However, the Opposition continues to press for a comprehensive parliamentary debate and the resignation of the Education Minister, keeping the issue at the centre of the ongoing political discourse.
