New Delhi: The Delhi Police has identified and blocked 480 Pakistan-based social media handles allegedly involved in coordinated misinformation campaigns aimed at spreading false narratives and creating confusion, particularly among students and young people. These social mwdia handles are the same they were involved in spreading wrong information during Operation Sindoor.
According to the police, these foreign-based accounts were found to be disseminating misleading content, rumours and unverified information in an apparent attempt to influence public opinion and exploit the prevailing situation. Officials said the coordinated online activity was designed to create panic, spread misinformation and mislead people through fabricated ormanipulated posts circulating on social media platforms. The officials warned that the youths of the country should not allow theses anty social media handles to exploit their commotions. He clarified that to protest peacefully is the fundamental right of the students and Delhi Police respect it.

Issuing a public advisory, the Delhi Police appealed to students and youth to remain vigilant while consuming information online and avoid believing or sharing content originating from suspicious or foreign-based social media accounts. Citizens have been urged to verify information only through official government and law enforcement channels before forwarding or acting upon any social media posts.
The police further emphasized that misinformation spread through social media has the potential to create unnecessary confusion, disturb public order and misguide people during sensitive situations. Authorities advised users to exercise caution, refrain from circulating unverifiedcontent and immediately report fake or misleading posts to the concerned authorities.
Reiterating its commitment to maintaining public order and ensuring the integrity of digital information, the Delhi Police said it continues to monitor online platforms closely and will take strict action against those involved in spreading false information or attempting to disrupt peace through coordinated misinformation campaigns.
