Piyush Goyal Holds Talks with Spain’s First Vice President; Discusses Trade, Investment and Technology Cooperation

New Delhi/Madrid, Spain : Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal began his official engagements in Spain with a high-level meeting with Mr. Carlos Cuerpo, First Vice President of the Government of Spain and Minister of Economy, Trade and Business.

During the meeting, both leaders held productive discussions on further strengthening the India-Spain economic partnership through enhanced cooperation in trade, investment and technology.

The talks focused on key sectors including renewable energy, green hydrogen, advanced manufacturing, digital technologies, infrastructure development and innovation, with both sides exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

Shri Piyush Goyal said that discussions also covered the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (India-EU FTA) and ways to further expand economic engagement between India and Spain.

The Union Minister highlighted the importance of deepening business-to-business ties and increasing commercial cooperation with Spain, describing the country as a valued partner in India’s journey towards greater economic growth and global engagement.
