New Delhi : Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan was briefed on the functioning and initiatives of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and Sainik Schools by Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth, along with senior officials of the Ministry of Defence, at Uprashtrapati Bhavan today.
During the briefing, the Vice President appreciated the significant contribution of the NCC in shaping responsible citizens and promoting nation-building. He highlighted the importance of the Cadet Exchange Programme under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative, describing it as an effective platform for promoting unity, cultural exchange, and national integration among youth from different parts of the country.
Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan also lauded the NCC’s various community service programmes, including its participation in campaigns such as Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which encourage social responsibility among young cadets.
The Vice President further welcomed the establishment of the NCC Alumni Association, noting that it would help strengthen the bond among former cadets and enable them to continue contributing towards society and nation-building efforts.
