New Delhi : Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, along with his wife Sara Netanyahu, participated in the cornerstone-laying ceremony for the Atarot Heritage Center in Jerusalem, together with Israel’s Minister of Heritage Amichai Eliyahu and Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion.

The planned Heritage Center will be developed within the historic Atarot Terminal building and is part of initiatives marking 50 years since “Operation Jonathan,” also known as the Entebbe raid.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the project symbolizes restoring Atarot to its historic prominence. He highlighted that Operation Jonathan had significantly enhanced Israel’s global image, portraying it as a small nation capable of remarkable boldness, and added that the story of the operation will be preserved and commemorated through the new heritage center.

The project is expected to serve as a historical and educational site, focusing on the legacy of the Entebbe operation and its place in Israel’s national memory.
