New Delhi/Berlin : The Indian Embassy in Germany, led by Ambassador Ajit Gupte, inaugurated a vibrant Marathi Food Festival in Berlin on 4 July 2026, celebrating India’s rich culinary diversity and regional cultural heritage.

The festival showcased a wide variety of traditional Marathi dishes prepared and presented by Indian restaurants, diaspora families, and community participants. From authentic home-style preparations to popular regional specialties, the event highlighted the depth and flavour of Maharashtra’s culinary traditions.

The event received an enthusiastic response from both the Indian diaspora and German visitors, who participated in large numbers and showed keen interest in India’s regional cuisine and cultural practices. The festival also served as a platform for cultural exchange, strengthening people-to-people ties between India and Germany.

During the event, the Ambassador also interacted with Indian students in Berlin, taking time to inquire about their well-being, academic experience, and adjustment to life in Germany. The interaction reflected the Embassy’s continued engagement with the Indian community abroad and its focus on supporting students and young professionals.

The festival formed part of broader efforts by Indian missions abroad to promote cultural diplomacy and showcase India’s diverse traditions on the global stage.
