New Delhi : Indian Ambassador to the United States Vinay Kwatra visited Indian Naval Ship Sudarshini at the port of Baltimore, Maryland on 28 June 2026. The vessel is currently participating in the SAIL 250 Maryland event, being held from 25 to 29 June 2026. During the visit, the ship’s Commanding Officer briefed the Ambassador on the ongoing “LOKAYAN 26” mission, highlighting the progress of the five-month-long transoceanic voyage covering approximately 13,000 nautical miles. The briefing also covered preparations for upcoming SAIL 250 events scheduled in New York and Boston.
Ambassador Kwatra was informed about the ship’s broader outreach efforts aimed at strengthening maritime cooperation and cultural ties through its global voyage.
He praised the crew’s dedication and extended his best wishes for the continued success of their journey. The Ambassador also acknowledged the ship’s role in fostering goodwill and building stronger bridges of mutual trust and cooperation between nations through naval diplomacy.
