New Delhi : Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan on Sunday administered the oath of office to seven newly elected and re-elected Members of Parliament during a ceremony held in the Rajya Sabha Chamber.
The members who took the oath or made the affirmation were Mansingh Meraman Parmar, Tarun Chugh, Dr. Alka Singh, Jitendra Meghjibhai Kanzariya, Rajendra Hiralal Jain, M. Nagaraja, and Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi.
Of the seven members, four took the oath in Hindi, while one each chose Kannada, Punjabi, and Manipuri as the language for the oath ceremony.
The newly sworn-in members represent different states across the country. Two members are from Gujarat, while one each represents Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, and Rajasthan.
Several senior leaders and dignitaries attended the ceremony, including Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, Leader of the House and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajya Sabha members Jairam Ramesh and Praful Patel, along with Rajya Sabha Secretary General P.C.
