New Delhi : The fourth vessel of the Diving Support Craft (DSC) project, DSC A 23 (Yard 328), has been successfully launched. The construction of these specialized vessels is being carried out by Titagarh Rail Systems Limited in Kolkata.
Measuring approximately 30 meters in length and with a displacement of around 380 tons, the craft features a catamaran hull design. This configuration provides greater stability, increased deck space, and improved sea-keeping capabilities, making it well-suited for diving operations in coastal waters and harbour environments.
The vessel has been designed and built in compliance with the standards set by the Indian Register of Shipping. Additionally, the project underwent detailed model testing and hydrodynamic analysis at the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory to ensure optimal performance and safety.
