New Delhi : In alignment with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, innovation, and data security, the Progressive Federation of Trade and Industry (PFTI), in collaboration with Eshwars Advocates, Chennai, and Udyog Paathshala, has launched a significant national-level initiative focused on strengthening Intellectual Property (IP) and data protection awareness among industries.
This initiative has been conceptualized in line with the frameworks of the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, and the evolving digital data protection landscape under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
To formally launch this initiative, Dr. Anshul Dhingra, Director – PFTI, visited Chennai and engaged with industry stakeholders, marking the beginning of this national campaign. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted that India’s MSME sector contributes nearly 30% to the country’s GDP and forms a critical pillar of economic growth. However, awareness around intellectual property rights and data protection remains limited, resulting in inadequate safeguarding of innovations and brand value. This initiative has been designed to bridge that critical gap.
Under this collaborative effort, PFTI will play a strategic role in policy advocacy, industry representation, and ecosystem-level empowerment and Eshwars Advocates, known for its strong expertise in IP and Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) law, will provide structured, practical guidance to industries for securing their brands, innovations, and data assets and Udyog Paathshala will drive grassroots-level outreach, ensuring deeper penetration and engagement across industries.
The leadership of PFTI — Mr. Deepak Maini (Chairman), Dr. S.P. Agarwal (Vice Chairman), and Advocate R.L. Sharma (Director General) — jointly stated “This initiative is both timely and transformative for the industry. It goes beyond awareness to deliver practical guidance and structured support, enabling the development of a secure and empowered industrial ecosystem. Additionally, it will accelerate PFTI’s expansion in South India.”
Mr. Eshwar Sabhapathi, Founder – Eshwars Advocates, appreciated PFTI’s efforts and stated: “PFTI has been doing commendable work for the industry. We are fully committed not only to this awareness initiative but also to supporting PFTI’s expansion in South India, ensuring that more industries benefit from this effort.”
Mr. Virendra Singh Rathore, Founder – Udyog Paathshala, added: “This is not just a program, but a structured movement to guide industries in the right direction. We are committed to taking this initiative across different regions of the country so that maximum industries can benefit.”
This joint initiative has the potential to lay a strong foundation for a secure and future-ready industrial ecosystem across India, while contributing significantly to the nation’s progress in innovation and data protection.
