New Delhi : The White House has announced that Donald Trump will dispatch a high-level negotiating team to Islamabad for talks this weekend.

According to the White House Press Secretary, the delegation will be led by J. D. Vance, along with Jared Kushner and the US Special Envoy for Peace Missions.

The visit is aimed at advancing diplomatic engagement and holding discussions on key regional and strategic issues, reflecting ongoing efforts by the United States to strengthen dialogue and cooperation in the region.

White House Press Secretary stated that an earlier 10-point proposal put forward by Iran was deemed “unserious and unacceptable” and was completely rejected by the United States.

Clarifying media reports, the official said claims that the initial proposal was considered acceptable were incorrect. As the deadline set by Donald Trump approached, and amid ongoing military pressure, Iran is said to have reassessed its position.

According to the statement, Tehran subsequently presented a revised and more concise proposal to the US negotiating team. This updated plan was viewed by the President and his advisors as a more realistic framework and a viable basis for further negotiations.

The development signals a potential opening for diplomatic engagement following a period of heightened tensions and stalled talks.
