Chandigarh, March 6 : The Haryana Police equestrian team delivered an impressive performance at the 44th All India Police Equestrian Duty Meet 2026, winning a total of four medals, including one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. The prestigious national-level police sports event was held in Tekanpur, Madhya Pradesh, from February 15 to February 27, 2026, where Haryana Police athletes showcased remarkable riding skills, discipline, and teamwork.
The strong performance of the Haryana Police mounted unit in events such as show jumping, tent pegging, and medley relay brought recognition and pride to the state police force at the national level.
DGP Ajay Singhal congratulates Haryana Police equestrian team
Congratulating the medal winners and the entire team, Ajay Singhal, Director General of Police, Haryana, said that Haryana Police personnel are excelling not only in law enforcement but also in sports and professional competitions. He said the success at the All India Police Equestrian Duty Meet reflects the hard work, discipline, dedication, and professional training standards of Haryana Police.
He expressed confidence that Haryana Police athletes will continue to achieve success in national-level police sports competitions and bring further glory to the state.
ADGP Sanjay Kumar highlights importance of police sports competitions
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar also appreciated the performance of the equestrian team. He stated that police sporting events like the All India Police Equestrian Duty Meet help strengthen discipline, courage, leadership qualities, and teamwork among police personnel.
He congratulated the medalists and the entire team, noting that their achievement is a matter of pride for Haryana Police and will motivate other personnel to excel in sports and professional training. He also acknowledged the contribution of Sandeep Singh Kashyap, Consultant (K-9 and Mounted Police), whose training, guidance, and strategic support played an important role in preparing the team.
Haryana Police athletes win medals in show jumping and tent pegging
During the competition, Constable Sandeep delivered an excellent performance in the Grade-II Show Jumping event, one of the most challenging competitions, securing a silver medal. He also finished fourth in the Show Jumping Pre-Novice category.
In the individual tent pegging event, Head Constable Suresh Kumar showcased outstanding riding skills and won a bronze medal.
In the team competitions, Haryana Police athletes demonstrated exceptional coordination and teamwork. The team comprising ASI Ranveer, Head Constable Deepak, and Head Constable Suresh won the gold medal in the Medley Relay event, bringing pride to the force.
Additionally, in the Team Tent Pegging event, the Haryana Police team consisting of SI Dinesh, ASI Sanjeev, ASI Jitendra, and Head Constable Deepak secured a bronze medal.
The medal winners credited their success to the continuous encouragement and sports promotion initiatives of Haryana Police, stating that the department’s focus on sports training, discipline, and professional development is producing positive results at national-level police competitions.
