Gurugram : To mark Haryana Day, the Gurugram district administration organized a district-level cultural festival at the Gurugram University auditorium on Saturday. School students from across the district and folk singer Jhamman Mir enlivened the state’s anniversary with their performances. Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, Rajrani Malhotra, BJP District President Sarvpriya Tyagi, and Gurugram Metropolitan President Ajit Yadav, along with several district administration officials, were present.
Haryana Day greetings to the residents of the district were extended.
DC Ajay Kumar and dignitaries present at the event inaugurated the cultural festival by lighting a lamp. The cultural festival broadcast live the state-level function held in Panchkula to mark Haryana Day. The Deputy Commissioner extended his greetings to the district residents on Haryana Day and encouraged the children participating in the cultural festival, wishing them a bright future. Prior to this, the Deputy Commissioner also recorded his message on the greeting board. Children from various schools enthralled the audience with cultural programs based on Haryana’s folk culture and the state’s development journey. Stage director Satyawan Sharma also kept the auditorium vibrant with Haryanvi humor.
Cultural Programs Add Color
Students from the Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School, Arjun Nagar, began the series of cultural programs with a welcome song. Following this, a student from the same school sang the ragini “Chalo us desh mein jahan sangeet ho…” to much applause. Students from Pranav Nanda Vidyalaya, Sector 92, received applause from the audience with their group performance based on the Haryanvi folk song “Laggi padan phuhar ke rimjhim saman aaya….” The group dance “Ray Pagdi Haryana Ki…” by students from the Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School, Sushant Lok, also captivated the audience. Folk singer Jhamman Mir, representing the Kalagram organization, filled the auditorium with the traditional colors of Haryana’s folk culture by singing the traditional Haryana ragini “Dikhin ya kaun khadi, oat mein kivadi ki…”.

Following the cultural programs, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) and other dignitaries honored the winners of the painting, lippan, sculpture, and Sanjhi competitions organized by the Education Department on the occasion of Haryana Day. They also honored the participating students and the supporting staff who made the cultural festival a success. The Nagada Party also performed at the cultural festival held at Gurugram University. The cultural festival concluded with the national anthem. Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar congratulated the team of the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Haryana, and the District Administration for the successful organization of the cultural festival.
Present on the occasion were ADC Vatsal Vashisht, SDM of Badshahpur Sanjeev Singla, DTP RS Bath, District Education Officer Indu Bokan, District Elementary Education Officer Saroj Dahiya, District Information and Public Relations Officer Bijendra Kumar, Dean of Gurugram University Dr. Ashok Khanna, Director of Kalagram Shikha Gupta, Pinky Yadav from Swachh Bharat Mission, Tilak Raj Malhotra and Municipal Councilors Kuldeep Yadav, Sundar Bhadana, Sonia Yadav along with other dignitaries.
