Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma Inaugurated the Divisional Level Workers Sports Competition-2025, Administered the Pledge of Drug Abuse and Sportsmanship to Workers

Gurugram :  Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma inaugurated the Divisional Level Workers Sports Competition-2025 organized by the Haryana Labour Welfare Board at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 38, Gurugram. At the inaugural ceremony, the MLA administered the pledge of drug abstinence and sportsmanship to workers and gave the message of adopting a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.

Mukesh Sharma said that sports not only improve physical health but also promote discipline, cooperation, and positive thinking in life. Describing the working class as the backbone of society and economy, he said that workers are the foundation of our progress. Without their physical and mental development, the overall development of the state is impossible. He praised this initiative of the Haryana Labour Welfare Board, which aims to hone the talents of workers and motivate them towards a healthy life.

The MLA emphasized the ill effects of drug addiction, saying it destroys a person’s health, family, and future. He said that addiction not only weakens the body but also destroys economic and social life. He administered a pledge to all participants to stay away from drugs and make sports a part of their lives. He called upon the workers to spread the message of de-addiction in society and inspire others to do the same.

The two-day sports competition, organized under the joint auspices of the Labor and Employment Department and the Haryana Labor Welfare Board, aims to promote sportsmanship, healthy competition, physical health, and mental development among workers. The event includes exciting sports such as 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, and 800-meter races, high jump, long jump, shot put, discus throw, wrestling, tug of war, kabaddi (national style), and volleyball (men’s category).

On this occasion, Deputy Labour Commissioner (Welfare) Surinder Kaur, Deputy Labour Commissioner Circle 1 Gurugram Dinesh Kumar, Deputy Labour Commissioner Circle 2 Naveen Sharma, DSO Aarti Kohli and Labour Welfare Officer Narendra Sharma along with other officers were present.

Many prominent personalities including Advocate R L Sharma, Entrepreneur Deepak Maini were also present on this occasion.
