Gurugram administration and police on alert mode amid heavy rains

Gurugram : Amid the continuous heavy rains in Gurugram city, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar came out on the streets to take stock of the situation and reviewed the arrangements. During this, Police Commissioner Vikas Arora was also present with him. He gave clear instructions to the officers of the concerned departments that the teams should work with full vigilance and promptness so that water does not accumulate at the identified places with waterlogging.
Safety of citizens is the top priority
DC Ajay Kumar said that in view of the alert of the Meteorological Department, the district administration is fully alert. People’s safety is the top priority, so corporate offices have been appealed to provide work from home facility to the employees. Also, schools in the district have been instructed to conduct online classes on Tuesday, so that children do not face any inconvenience. He also urged the citizens to leave their homes only when necessary and follow the advisory issued by the administration.
Continuous monitoring of places with potential waterlogging
The Deputy Commissioner said during the site inspection with the officials of the concerned departments that all teams should keep monitoring continuously. Additional resources and staff should be deployed in areas where there is a high possibility of waterlogging. Also, the teams of the District Disaster Management Authority should also be on constant alert, so that any emergency can be dealt with.
Five thousand policemen took charge for smooth movement of vehicles
During this, Gurugram Police Commissioner Vikas Arora was also present on the spot. He told that on Monday, there was more rainfall than expected, due to which waterlogging occurred at many places. Despite this, the traffic police took charge in time. He said that about five thousand policemen were deployed on the roads, who continuously maintained smooth traffic in various areas of the city. To ensure smooth traffic at places where there was likely waterlogging, policemen stood at about every 10 meters and kept helping in removing vehicles. The Police Commissioner said that in view of the possibility of heavy rain on Tuesday also, both the police and the administration will remain on alert mode. Due to joint efforts, the situation in the city remained under control and traffic was normalized at most places.
