New Delhi : America’s tone has started changing regarding the trade differences with India. The US administration, which till now used to attack India by giving interviews on different forums every day, has started softening its stance. This is indicated by a statement issued today by US Secretary Marco Rubio. It is possible that America wants to change the decision of imposing 50 percent duty on India and wants to bring its strategic relations with India back on track.

In fact, today, US Secretary Marco Rubio has said in a statement released on social media that “The partnership between the United States and India continues to reach new heights — a defining relationship of the 21st century. This month, we’re spotlighting the people, progress, and possibilities driving us forward. From innovation and entrepreneurship to defense and bilateral ties, it’s the enduring friendship between our two peoples that fuels this journey. It is being speculated that this statement of the US Secretary is the effect of the meeting of PM Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the SCO meeting held in China on America. On the other hand, President Donald Trump’s trade policy against India is being heavily criticized by the intellectuals of America.

From the former President of the US to former security advisors and economic experts, everyone has expressed concern about Trump’s behavior with India and they have said that this will harm the strategic partnership between America and India. The US may be in danger. Domestic criticism and new polarization and diplomatic equations in the international world seem to be affecting the Trump administration.

In diplomatic circles, Secretary Rubio’s statement is being seen as damage control for the rift in relations with India. The interesting thing is that this statement of Marco Rubio has been released on X by the US Embassy in India.
