District Administration Gurugram signs MoU with corporate groups to provide facilities for girls on campus

DC Ajay Kumar’s initiative for daughters’ careers gains corporate support; girls to receive enhanced on-campus opportunities

Gurugram : There is welcome news for students of Government College for Girls, Sector 14, as they will now have the opportunity to prepare for competitive exams including IT skill development and UPSC coaching right on campus. Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar’s initiative to advance daughters’ careers has gained support from several corporate groups.

Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar welcomed the initiative taken by corporate groups to support the skill development of girl students. Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony held in the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat, he said that this commendable effort will open up valuable opportunities for daughters to advance in life. Now, in addition to their regular studies, students will have access to IT skill development and preparation for UPSC and other competitive exams right on their own campus.

IT skills to open doors for employment opportunities

In collaboration with the District Administration, Comviva Technologies, Sunsheel Foundation, and MEPSC, Government College for Girls, Sector 14, will soon have a dedicated IT skills lab and a training classroom on campus. The MoU was signed by Comviva CEO Ram Avatar and MEPSC CEO Col. Ramesh Pokhriyal with Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar.

Providing further details, Gaurav Singh, Additional CEO of CSR Trust Haryana, said that with the support of Comviva, a lab equipped with 38 computers has already been established on campus. The girl students will receive IT skill development training through MEPSC upto January 15. The training will be aligned with the requirements of corporate groups operating in Gurugram, thereby enhancing students’ employability alongside their academic studies.

Making the path to competitive exams easier alongside regular studies

M3M Foundation President Aishwarya Mahajan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar to support the preparation of UPSC and other competitive examinations for girl students. As part of this initiative, five dedicated classrooms have been set up on the college campus. Over the next five years, students will receive coaching from reputed institutes to help them prepare for various competitive exams. Additional CEO of CSR Trust Haryana stated that a committee, chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, has been formed to monitor the institute’s performance. The committee will conduct a review of its operations every three months.
