We Agreed on the Importance of Maintaining Peace and Tranquility in Border : Narendra Modi

New Delhi / Tianjin : Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met after 7 years in Tianjin. It was a bileteral meeting of about 50 minutes. Both leaders greeted each other and praised for thier efforts to strengthen bileteral trade relation.

The two leaders reviewed the progress of India – China bilateral relations since their meeting in Kazan last year. Both leaders spoke in a same voice and said that ” Stable and amicable ties between India and China are important for our economic growth, for reformed multilateralism and for a multipolar world and Asia. ” They supported the work of the two SRs on the boundary question. Both agreed to further promote people to people exchanges.

Afterr meeting Prime Minister Modi said that ” Had a fruitful meeting with President Xi Jinping in Tianjin on the sidelines of the SCO Summit. We reviewed the positive momentum in India-China relations since our last meeting in Kazan. We agreed on the importance of maintaining peace and tranquility in border areas and reaffirmed our commitment to cooperation based on mutual respect, mutual interest and mutual sensitivity. “
