See this initiative as a public campaign: Anand Mohan Sharan

Anand Mohan Sharan instructed the officials to take this project forward not just as a government program but with the spirit of a public movement. He said that if we make the citizens participate, then this campaign can be successfully completed within the expected time frame. He said that active cooperation of public representatives is essential to give this effort the form of a public movement. Citing successful examples of cities like Sikkim and Indore, he said that Gurugram can also be presented as an exemplary model by following in their footsteps. He also said that many non-governmental organizations are coming forward for active participation in this campaign.

– Change in people’s behavior is the foundation of the success of this campaign, public awareness will be strengthened by publicity

Anand Mohan Sharan directed the officials to use effective mediums like posters, short video clips, jingles, social media campaigns, street plays and community meetings to increase public awareness. Along with this, special awareness programs should be organized at schools, colleges, resident welfare associations, malls, markets, offices of multinational companies and other public places. He said, change in people’s behavior is the foundation of the success of this campaign. Unless the common people themselves are motivated to stop using plastic, no government effort can be successful.

– The personal contribution of every employee will be decisive

Anand Mohan Sharan called upon all the departments to connect each of their employees to this campaign, so that this effort can become a public-sensitive mission instead of being merely administrative. He said that Haryana’s Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh is very serious about this campaign and is motivating the common people from various platforms to adopt environmental protection and plastic free lifestyle. He has a clear vision that a plastic free society is very important for clean and sustainable development. He appealed to the general public to bring positive change in their behavior by becoming a part of this campaign and adopt alternatives to plastic.
