Rani Ahilyabai Tricentenary Birth Memorial Seminar
Program organized at Agrawal Dharamshala in Sohna
Sohna (Gurugram) : Haryana’s Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that Rani Ahilyabai Holkar’s life is an indelible inspiration for women empowerment, social justice and nation building. She belonged to a simple family, but through her ideal leadership, religious renaissance and social reforms, she created a special place in Indian history.
Rao Narbir Singh was speaking as the chief guest at the Rani Ahilyabai Holkar Tricentenary Birth Memorial Seminar organized at Agrawal Dharamshala in Anaj Mandi, Sohna on Saturday. He said that Ahilyabai presented a wonderful balance of ancient cultural values and modern outlook during her tenure. By renovating many major temples like Kashi Vishwanath, Somnath, she made an incomparable contribution in the preservation of religious heritage. Along with this, by encouraging widow remarriage and women education, she took a historic initiative towards social reform.
On this occasion, Sohna MLA Tejpal Singh Tanwar and Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary were also present. The program started with offering flowers to the pictures of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
In the seminar, former district president of BJP Gargi Kakkar mentioned the inspirational events of Rani Ahilyabai’s life and said that she is a symbol of pride and inspiration for Indian women. During her reign, she worked for the welfare of all sections, especially her role in the upliftment of Bhil, Gond and other tribal and backward castes was remarkable.
The success of this seminar was a symbol of collective awareness of the society and deep respect towards Rani Ahilyabai Holkar. The special participation of Pal Baghel community in the program further strengthened the spirit of social harmony and public participation. On this occasion, Rao Narbir Singh thanked everyone for the impressive participation of Nari Shakti.
BJP Mandal Sohna (Gurugram Rural) President Saurabh Singla, Sohna Municipal Council Chairman Rajinder Bagdi, Municipal Councilors, Mandal Presidents of Tawadu and Pataudi Assembly constituencies and other senior officials were also present in the program.
