-Ashok Gehlot said that this government has lost both moral authority and courage
New Delhi : Congress party today raised several questions on the topics related to Operation Sindoor and ceasefire mentioned in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation. Senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation yesterday, but he disappointed. The country is unable to understand the sudden ceasefire, because it was completely confidential. He stressed that our army did a very good job, we salute them. The army targeted terrorist hideouts, which was praised all over the world, but the President of America is becoming the contractor for ceasefire. The country wants to know whether he took this contract himself or our silence has boosted his morale due to which he is making absurd announcements.
Former CM Ashok Gehlot was addressing a press conference organized at the Congress headquarters. He said that every family in the country was saddened by the incident that happened in Halgam. Amidst such circumstances in the country, the army attacked, in which 100 terrorists were killed. He said that America had put pressure on India earlier also, but we never bowed down and divided Pakistan into two parts. Even during the Shimla Agreement, we did not let any other country come in between.
But now the way Donald Trump is coming in between, Prime Minister Modi and the government should answer for it. Why is the government not giving clarification on Trump’s statements?
The Congress leader asked in a questioning tone that what contract has Donald Trump taken? Trump has either become a contractor himself or our silence has boosted his morale, due to which he is announcing ceasefire. He expressed surprise saying that now Trump is saying that he will also solve the Kashmir issue, whereas till now India’s policy has been only bilateral. He warned saying that what Trump is saying about solving the Kashmir issue is very serious.
He said that PM Modi was about to address here, but before that Trump announced that we told India and Pakistan that if they want to do trade, then they will have to do ceasefire. Prime Minister Modi should answer all these questions.
Ashok Gehlot stressed that we should have put Pakistan in such a situation that it would not be able to carry out terrorist incidents, but suddenly ceasefire happened. After Trump’s announcement, the whole country is shocked as to what is happening? Because even after the ceasefire, Pakistan’s attack on our country continued.
Referring to the speculations going on in the media regarding the announcement of ceasefire with Pakistan, he said that different things related to this are going on in the media, so until the government itself does not speak about it, the media people will keep writing on the basis of sources. He believed that the country wants to know what kind of pressure is there on Prime Minister Modi that he is not able to give any clarification.
The senior leader of the Congress party said that when Prime Minister Modi addressed, it was expected that he would answer these things, but he did not speak. Due to this, the government and the country have suffered a huge loss, because the army was doing a very good job, but suddenly ceasefire was done.
He said in a witty manner that for the first time in 11 years I experienced that the ruling party and the opposition of the country are together. In such a difficult time, we were all united, this sent a message to the whole world that we are one. Sarcastically he said that after the arrival of Narendra Modi, this atmosphere had gone away from the country, here the rule of Income Tax, ED and CBI was going on. ED had increased the distance between the ruling party and the opposition.
Reminding that the Congress Party has fully supported the action of the government and the Indian Army against terrorism in Pakistan, he said that Rahul Gandhi said that in this difficult time, the entire opposition is standing with the government. He not only said but also fulfilled his word. The unity of the country boosted the morale of the army. His question was that but then what was the reason that all things changed, everything turned upside down?
In response to a question, the Congress leader said that while we are very proud of the valor and valor of our army, the sudden ceasefire incident has raised many questions on the government. His reply was that Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that ‘Operation Sindoor’ has been temporarily suspended. I have never heard before that ceasefire has ever been temporary. If it is temporary then who knows when Pakistan will change.
The Congress leader asked PM Modi to clarify the situation and said, was ‘Operation Sindoor’ postponed under US pressure? These things should be clear. The entire opposition is with the government in the action against terrorism, then why is PM Modi not attending the all-party meeting. Two all-party meetings have been held, but he did not attend any of them.
He said that the government should also call a session of Parliament to discuss the Indian Army’s retaliatory action and President Trump’s statement regarding the demolition of terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and the provocative action of the Pakistani Army, so that this issue is discussed, things remain on record and the whole country knows what the government’s policy is.
He said that Rahul Gandhi warned the country many times. Be it the Corona period or the matter of friendship with China. Azerbaijan and Turkey openly came with Pakistan, but even after the injustice done in Pahalgam, no country openly stood with us. The government will have to answer for this.
On the question of journalists, Ashok Gehlot said that this government has lost both moral authority and courage. We had a chance to destroy Pakistan’s terrorism forever. If ceasefire had to be done, then it should have been discussed at the level of Prime Minister or Foreign Minister, in which it would have been clearly said that the government of Pakistan will not allow terrorist bases to flourish on its soil.
