New Delhi : The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Army shared detailed information today through a joint press briefing on the growing war situation between India and Pakistan. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Pakistan is constantly taking provocative steps, which is a matter of concern and India is giving a befitting and strong response to this. Colonel Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said that Pakistan is constantly attacking Indian military bases, air bases, civil infrastructure and religious places. Last night at 1:40 am, Pakistan made a failed attempt to attack several air bases including Sirsa base in which long range missiles were used. They said that Pakistan’s nefarious intentions have been destroyed in the air by India. Vyomka said that targeting Indian military bases is provocative.

In the press briefing, Colonel Sofia Qureshi said that ‘Pakistan continued heavy firing on the entire border. Civilians and military structures are being targeted using drones and fighter jets. India has launched strong counter attacks. He also revealed that the deployment of Pakistani soldiers in forward posts is increasing significantly. He said that this is an attempt by the Pakistani army to provoke.

Colonel Qureshi said that on one hand India foiled most of the attacks by Pakistan and on the other hand also gave a well-planned reply. Important radar sites and weapons depots of Pakistan were targeted by India. Air launches and fighter jets were attacked on Pakistan’s military bases in Rafiki, Murid, Chaklala, Rehmayar Khan, Shukur and Chuniya, in which heavy damage was caused to it. Apart from this, Pasur radar site and Sialkot’s aviation base were targeted by the Indian Army.

Addressing the journalists, he said that the Indian Army ensured minimum collateral damage during the operation. Pakistan misused international air routes by using the cover of civilian aircraft flying from Lahore so that they could hide their activities. Such moves forced the Indian air defense system to act with extreme restraint.

He said that Pakistan misused it by using the cover of passenger aircraft. Pakistan also spread false propaganda that it has damaged many air defense systems and military bases of India. Colonel Sofia Qureshi exposed the false claims of Pakistan by showing evidence during the press conference. She said, ‘Pakistan used propaganda. Rumours have been spread about the destruction of S-400 system in Adampur, airports of Suratgarh and Sirsa, Brahmos base of Nagrota, ammunition center of Chandigarh. Pakistan is spreading such rumours with the help of social media. India rejects it. Pakistan has not been able to cause any damage to India so far.

Colonel Qureshi also claimed that the Pakistani army has continued aggressive actions on the western front which is a provocative action. India’s military infrastructure was targeted using Ucab drones, long range weapons and fighter jets. Drones were also infiltrated on the Line of Control. Firing was done with heavy weapons.

He said that failed attempts of air intrusion were made at more than 26 places from Srinagar to Nalia on the LoC. The Indian Army foiled all the attacks. There was also a failed attempt to harm the equipment and soldiers of Air Force Station Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, Bhuj, Bathinda Station.

According to him, Pakistan tried to fire a high speed missile at the airbase station in Punjab at 1:40 am, which was shot down by India in the air. Discussing the failed attack on civil facilities, Colonel Qureshi said that Pakistan also targeted medical centers and school premises at the Air Force bases of Srinagar, Avantipur and Udhampur.

He clarified that Pakistan carried out the attacks using the cover of civilian aircraft flying from Lahore. Also, Pakistan is spreading false claims of destroying Indian equipment like S-400 on social media. It is worth mentioning that this attempt of Pakistan to attack using civilian aircraft as a shield was made a day before as well, which was also revealed by Colonel Qureshi in the press briefing yesterday i.e. Friday.
