Gurugram, March 26 : Power Grid Corporation of India Limited in collaboration with the Health Department organized a Ni-Kshy Shivir (Screening Camp) as part of the 100-day campaign on Tuberculosis (TB) elimination and control.

Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Keshav Sharma while addressing the employees of POWERGRID highlighted the causes of TB, its prevention and control. The session was live streamed in all the establishments of POWERGRID pan India, in which about 200 employees were connected through online mode.

Dr Keshav Sharma informed that under the slogan of TB Harega, Desh Jeetega, a public participation campaign is being run to make the country TB free, in which the youth also have an important role. He appealed to the youth to raise awareness about this disease through social media and other means. Dr. Keshav informed that TB (Tuberculosis) is an infectious disease, which mainly affects the lungs and is caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis

. It spreads through air and its treatment is possible, but it is necessary to take treatment regularly and for the full period. He also told that TB bacteria live in the body but if the immunity of a person is weak, it can become active in the body and make the person sick.
