elhi, Oct.31 : “For needo-health with pharmaceutical care, we need the pharmacy professionals more than doctors prescribing medicines preventing disease better than the curative approach to health”, opined Prof M.M. Goel Former Vice-Chancellor known as Propounder Needonomics School of Thought superannuated from Kurukshetra University. He was speaking at the Student Orientation Programme in Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University on the topic “Street SMART Model for Ethics in Pharmacy Professionals ” here today. Vice Chancellor DPSR University Prof Ramesh Goyal presided over the function and talked about importance of research and innovation in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Geeta Agarwal Dean (Academics) delivered the welcome address and presented a citation on the achievements of Prof. M.M. Goel.
Prof. Harvinder Popli, Registrar talked about the international and industrial research collaborations of the university. Prof. P. K. Sahoo, Director DIPSAR and Prof. Ajay Sharma, Director SPS interacted with the students for the opportunities of different areas of research in Pharmaceutical and Allied Health Sciences.
Pharmacy professionals must be able to communicate and collaborate with various persons in a cooperative team approach to patient care as “3C’s of Community,” explained Prof Goel, Chief Guest of the programme.
To achieve success in our endeavors as pharmacy professionals with ethics, we must convert our monkey mind to monk mind, told Prof. Goel
To script a new narrative for pharmacy professionals, we must be bold, courageous, and enthusiastic to become street SMART (simple, moral, action-oriented, responsive, and transparent), believes Prof. Goel.
For mature critical thinking and problem-solving skills, we need professional competency for which learn to work in interdisciplinary teams, told Prof. Goel.
Developing responsible partners in the learning process by nurturing communication, cooperation, and collaboration among the students and faculty members is the goal of the orientation program, explained Prof Goel.
The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Prof. S. Wakode. The programme was attended by more than 200 research scholrs and students and faculty of DPSRU.
