Gurugram : Gyaananda School Sector 109, Gurugram organised its first Annual Sports Day on 10th February , Saturday for its Primary wing children. All students participated in every activities and got their prizes by the Chief Guest Ravindra Kumar ,Public Relation Officer, Police Commissionerate, Gurugram and Guest of Honour Geeta SI and a national champion in Kabaddi accompanied by the School’s Director , S C Baweja and the Headmistress Dr Dipika Rathi. The children enjoyed with enthusiasm and learned a lot to develop themselves as a future sports person.
Addressing the gathering of parents and grand parents of the children, Chief Guest Ravindra kumar PRO , Police Commissionerate , Gurugram elaborated the facilities for sports being given by the Haryana Government. He pointed out benefits of sports and informed that now a sportsperson can get a better opportunity in different govt. departments including Haryana Police.
He reiterated that the time is changing very fastly and games have become an important profession not only in India but also worldwide. It develops children’s personality and mental ability both . He was of the opinion that parents must encourage their children toward Sports as per their choice.
A national awardee of Kabaddi, Geeta who is working with Haryana Police as a Sub Inspector shared her experience how she developed herself as a sportsperson and achieved International and National Award/Medal in Kabaddi. She explained the difficulty she faced since childhood. According to Geeta she incidently got this opportunity but following the guidance of her sport teacher gradually developed for every coming sports competition. She played inter School, District level, State level, and finally National level competition . Her commitment and regular practice of Kabaddi she played International label game also and got medal. She clarified that on the basis of her sport achievement got appointment in Haryana Police and in 2010 state govt upgraded her as a SI.
Explaining each and every moment of her past life she repeatedly tried to sewa the attention of the parents towards opportunity in the Sport’s field and encouraged all not to pressurise and impose their choices on children. She opined that it will be better if parent give an opportunity to opt children’s own choice of field so that they could flourish as well. Giving her own example Kabaddi Champion Geeta advice all to accompany their children atleast one hour each day in the playground for their over all development in life.
Speaking on this special occasion ,S C Baweja, Director ,Gyaananda School, Sector 109, Gurugram said that we create a community of learners who embody the core human values coupled with knowledge, skills and competencies fundamental to global citizenry. He shared his 40 years vast experience in the field of education with the parents and assured a better future of children. His advice was to make a balance between class room and playground to prepare a good human being and develop internal as well as external qualities in children. A renounded educationist Mr Baweja pointed out the role of teachers and parents in the life of a student. He also outlined the future planning of his school .
Before this welcoming the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Parents , the Headmistress of the school Dr Dipika Rathi said that Gyaananda school aims to attain the objective of creating individuals who are responsible, disciplined and independent to make the right choice in this globalised world. Giving an outline of teaching methodology she said that here in this school we have planning to make balance of individual and group activities, outdoor and indoor activities, active and quiet activities, and free and structured activities to foster all aspects of development. She assured that Gyaananda School provides an environment to promote adaptive and positive behaviour though self-direction, responsibility, flexibility, productivity and social skills and today’s AAROHNAM the first Annual Sports Day vindicate our claim . In her speech she gave a brief of world class infrastructure and Human resources the school has.
The first Annual Sports Day started with the March past and an Oath ceremony. All students of grade I to V led by all house captains, participated and exhibited in a well manner. The gathering applauded a lot. The Sports Captain invited the Chief Guest for lighting of the torch and game declared open.
In this event children of KG to grade V did a drill reflecting a strong message of Unity In Diversity. Tiny tots of Prenursery participated in Go Green India Race and of Nursery participated in Health is Wealth race. All games were based on great environmental and moral values . A Dance aerobics was exhibited by students of Grade II to V.
The Sports event was designed with the participation of Grand parents and Parents too where they enjoyed in musical chair games and race respectively and got first second and third prize by the Chief Guest Ravindra Kumar .
Communicating a message to follow traffic rules a Traffic “signs & signals ” race was also organised for KG Kids and on the other side Swachh Bharat Abhiyan race for grade I to make aware them for Swachhta.
The Sports department of the school also organised a Read race to inspire kids of grade II and III where tree plantation race for IV and V. At the end of the game a teacher’s race was also included in which all teachers participated and proved their fitness.
On this occasion many grand parents, parents a and distinguished guest as well as all teachers of Gyaananda School were also present.
