New Delhi/Singapore : Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, was welcomed by Shri Shilpak Ambule, High Commissioner of India to Singapore, upon her arrival at Changi International Airport earlier today.
Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman is visiting Singapore from October 9 to 11, 2026, for high-level meetings with Singapore’s leadership and chief executive officers of business firms, with a focus on strengthening bilateral economic engagement and advancing investment opportunities.
During the visit, the Finance Minister will participate in a Business Roundtable with hedge fund and portfolio fund managers, providing a platform to engage with the investment community and discuss opportunities for deeper financial and economic cooperation between India and Singapore.
The discussions will cover key areas of the India–Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and take forward the outcomes of the India–Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR).
The proposed areas of cooperation include trade and investment, digital financial connectivity, capital markets, taxation, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, skill development and aviation.
The visit underscores the importance of India–Singapore economic ties and the shared commitment to expanding collaboration across financial services, emerging technologies, manufacturing and investment.
Through high-level government engagement and interactions with business leaders and global investors, the visit is expected to provide fresh momentum to bilateral cooperation and strengthen Singapore’s role as an important economic and investment partner for India.
