MCG and One Stage NGO join hands to raise awareness on plastic reduction, cleanliness and responsible waste management through sports

Gurugram, September 30: In a unique public awareness initiative aimed at promoting a clean and plastic-free Gurugram and encouraging better waste management practices, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), in collaboration with One Stage NGO, organised an engaging awareness programme using sports and recreational activities as a medium.

The initiative witnessed the participation of hundreds of people at the MCG office premises. Through games and interactive activities, participants were conveyed the message that maintaining cleanliness is not the sole responsibility of sanitation workers but a collective responsibility of every citizen.

During the programme, citizens were encouraged to avoid the unnecessary use of plastic, segregate waste responsibly and ensure its proper disposal. By using sports and entertainment as communication tools, the initiative presented important messages related to cleanliness and environmental protection in a simple, engaging and accessible manner.

Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said that active participation by citizens is crucial to making Gurugram clean and plastic-free. He said that connecting awareness campaigns with engaging and participatory activities helps communicate the message of cleanliness more effectively.

“Our endeavour is to continuously encourage citizens to reduce the use of plastic, manage waste responsibly and make cleanliness a part of their daily habits. Collective participation is the key to moving towards a cleaner, greener and better Gurugram,” Dahiya said.

Citizens visiting the MCG office appreciated the initiative and said it conveyed a positive message about cleanliness, environmental protection and responsible waste management.

The joint initiative by MCG and One Stage NGO is aimed at encouraging greater public participation in cleanliness campaigns and promoting positive behavioural changes through an interactive and participatory approach.
