MAHENDRAGIRI, September 9, 2026: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully conducted a flight acceptance hot test of the CE20 cryogenic engine earmarked for the C32 upper stage of an upcoming LVM3 mission at its uprated thrust level of 220 kN.
The test was successfully carried out on September 9, 2026, at the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri, marking another important step in the qualification and flight-readiness of the upgraded cryogenic propulsion system.
During the same test, ISRO also successfully demonstrated the performance of the LOX Tank Pressurization Module (LTPM) intended for the C32 stages of the Gaganyaan missions.
The successful hot test validates the performance of the CE20 engine under its 220 kN uprated thrust conditions and represents a significant milestone in strengthening India’s heavy-lift launch vehicle capabilities and advancing the propulsion systems required for upcoming missions.
The successful demonstration of the LTPM also adds to the technological readiness of systems being developed for India’s human spaceflight programme, Gaganyaan.
