New Delhi : The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will hold the 16th Conference of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW) on June 29 at Vigyan Bhawan, bringing together key policymakers to deliberate on major health sector priorities and strengthen Centre–State coordination.
The conference will be chaired by Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and attended by Ministers of State for Health Anupriya Patel and Prataprao Jadhav, along with Health Ministers from States and Union Territories, Members of Parliament, senior officials, experts and other stakeholders.
According to the Ministry, the meeting will focus on three key thematic areas: the National Health Mission in relation to Sustainable Development Goals, food and drug reforms, and allied health services. Discussions will review ongoing programmes, share best practices, address emerging challenges and develop a coordinated strategy to improve health outcomes nationwide.
Constituted under Article 263 of the Constitution, the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare is the apex advisory body of the Ministry, responsible for reviewing and recommending measures for the effective implementation of health policies across States and Union Territories.
The Ministry said the Council serves as an important platform for cooperative federalism, enabling structured dialogue between the Centre and States on public health planning, policy implementation and programme convergence.
