Gurugram : To ensure the timely completion of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) of electoral rolls in Gurugram district, additional staff has been deployed to assist Booth Level Officers (BLOs) engaged in fieldwork and digital uploading of voter enumeration forms.

The revision exercise, which will continue till July 14 in the district, has been facing operational challenges, particularly in the 77-Gurugram Assembly constituency, where BLOs were experiencing difficulties in uploading forms on the BLO App due to limited familiarity with digital processes.

Officials also noted that irregular and non-sequential house numbering in several residential colonies has slowed down door-to-door verification and data collection work, impacting the pace of the campaign.

To address these issues, the office of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) has arranged additional manpower to support BLOs in digitisation and uploading tasks. This is expected to allow field staff to focus more on physical verification and ensure faster completion of the exercise within the stipulated timeline.

ERO and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Gurugram Assembly constituency, Hitendra Kumar, said the Election Commission of India is committed to preparing an accurate, inclusive and error-free voter list.

He said the additional support has been arranged in view of practical challenges on the ground to ensure smooth and timely completion of the SIR-2026 exercise.

Appealing to citizens, he urged all eligible voters to extend full cooperation to BLOs during the door-to-door verification process, provide correct details, and submit their enumeration forms on time to help strengthen the accuracy of the electoral roll.
