New Delhi : Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive review of APT 2.0, India Post’s next-generation digital platform, highlighting its growing role in transforming the postal network into a modern logistics and service delivery hub.
During the review, Dr. Pemmasani said APT 2.0 is enabling branch offices to utilise real-time intelligence for analysing local demand, tracking operational performance and taking faster, data-driven decisions at the field level. He noted that the integration of Artificial Intelligence is helping India Post process large volumes of operational data, automate routine tasks, predict service outcomes and improve efficiency across the network.
The Minister of State stated that the platform is delivering measurable improvements in service delivery, including reduced manual intervention, quicker operations, improved decision-making and enhanced customer satisfaction. He added that the system is also helping India Post achieve more reliable and efficient functioning across its nationwide postal infrastructure.
Highlighting the business potential of the platform, Dr. Pemmasani said APT 2.0 is strengthening customer outreach and engagement, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. The platform is also improving service adoption at branch offices and creating new revenue opportunities through timely, data-backed customer engagement. According to him, the conversion of branch-level data into actionable intelligence is enhancing India Post’s competitiveness in the changing logistics ecosystem.
He further observed that the ongoing transformation is central to India Post’s emergence as a strong national logistics backbone aligned with the vision of a digitally empowered and service-oriented institution.
Dr. Pemmasani also noted that the Government of India is closely monitoring implementation at the ground level, reflecting a hands-on governance approach that is driving a cultural shift within the organisation from a traditional legacy system to a more agile, technology-driven and corporate-style institution.
Emphasising the importance of secure digital infrastructure, the Minister said the Government’s digital initiatives are ensuring a robust architecture that protects data integrity and strengthens cybersecurity. He added that this approach is helping create trusted, resilient and future-ready public service delivery systems while reinforcing confidence in India’s expanding digital public infrastructure.
Under the leadership of Union Minister for Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, India Post continues to advance its digital transformation agenda in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat, using technology to strengthen last-mile connectivity and improve service delivery nationwide.
