Gurgaon : Senior Congress leader and former MP Raj Babbar, along with Gurgaon District Congress (Urban) President Pankaj Dawar, paid a visit to the residence of party District Secretary Khemchand Kirar to inquire about his health. Kirar, who has been unwell for the past few days, was wished a speedy recovery by both leaders, who spent time with him and his family during the visit.
Describing Kirar as a dedicated grassroots worker, the leaders acknowledged his consistent commitment to strengthening the party at the local level. They expressed hope for his quick return to active organizational work, emphasizing the importance of leaders like him in maintaining the party’s grassroots connect.
Following the visit, Raj Babbar and Dawar proceeded to the office of District Vice President Harkesh Bohat, where they were warmly received. During an informal interaction over tea with party workers, discussions were held on ongoing organizational activities and future strategies to reinforce the Congress base in the region.
Raj Babbar praised Bohat’s initiative of setting up a dedicated office to stay connected with the public, calling it a model worth emulating. He underlined that the Indian National Congress values every worker equally, with no hierarchy of “high” or “low,” and encouraged regular dialogue among workers to collectively plan and execute strategies for organizational growth.
On the political front, Babbar also commented on the issue of the women’s reservation bill, criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party for what he described as a politically motivated approach. He reiterated the Congress demand for the passage and implementation of the 2023 bill, alleging that the ruling party attempted to use the issue for electoral advantage.
Echoing similar sentiments, Pankaj Dawar stated that Congress workers are united in their efforts to strengthen the organization and expose what he termed as anti-people policies of the ruling party. He further claimed that the BJP’s popularity is witnessing a steady decline, accusing it of prioritizing power over public welfare and remaining silent on key issues such as rising inflation.
The visit and subsequent interactions highlighted the party’s focus on grassroots engagement and internal coordination, while also reflecting its continued criticism of the ruling dispensation.
