New Delhi : As the Islamabad Talks formally commenced, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, marking the opening engagement of the dialogue process aimed at regional stability and cooperation. The information is shared on ‘X’ by Pakistani PM Office.
It is stated that the U.S. delegation was accompanied by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner, while the Pakistani side was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the constructive spirit of engagement between the two delegations and expressed optimism that the discussions would serve as a meaningful step toward achieving durable peace in the region. He reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to continue facilitating dialogue between relevant parties to advance efforts aimed at sustainable regional stability.
The talks, held in Islamabad, focused on fostering cooperation and strengthening diplomatic understanding, with both sides emphasizing the importance of sustained engagement and peaceful resolution of regional challenges.
