New Delhi : Pete Hegseth has claimed that Iran was compelled to seek a ceasefire following what he described as a decisive US military victory during “Operation Epic Fury.”

Speaking on the operation, Hegseth termed it a “historic and resounding success,” asserting that it had significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities.

He stated that in under 40 days, the United States Central Command carried out extensive operations that effectively dismantled one of the world’s largest armed forces, while deploying less than 10 percent of total US combat strength.

Emphasizing the scale of the achievement, Hegseth said the United States relied on only a limited portion of its military power, yet inflicted what he described as a major defeat on Iran.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions and ongoing developments surrounding ceasefire efforts in the region.
