Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, Finance and Contracts Committee members Councillors Anoop Singh and Sundar Singh, Chief Engineer Vijay Dhaka, Joint Commissioner Dr. Naresh Kumar, and other concerned executive engineers were present on the occasion.

The meeting included detailed discussions on proposals related to strengthening the basic infrastructure in various villages, colonies, and sectors. The approved projects primarily focus on strengthening sewerage, roads, drainage, water supply, street lighting, and sanitation infrastructure.

Sewer and Drainage Systems to be Strengthened

Considering the problem of decades-old sewer lines in densely populated areas, the rehabilitation and strengthening of old 600 mm diameter sewer lines have been approved. This work will be carried out specifically in Ward-27, Civil Lines, Sadar Bazaar, and Jacobpura areas. Additionally, the laying of a storm water drainage system and development of a disposal network in Sector-9, 9A, and other waterlogging-prone areas has been approved, which is expected to significantly reduce waterlogging problems during the monsoon season.

Upgradation of Road Infrastructure Prioritized

Proposals for the construction and reconstruction of RMC roads in several areas were passed in the meeting. The strengthening and re-carpeting of roads in Dhanwapur Road, Madanpuri, Sector-46, South City-1, Sector-15 Part-2, and Sector-18 will facilitate smoother traffic flow. In addition, the reconstruction of the RMC road from Rajendra Park to Dhanwapur Chowk has also been approved, which will directly benefit thousands of daily commuters.

Expansion of Basic Amenities in Villages and New Colonies

Special attention has also been given to the development of rural and newly developed areas connected to the municipal corporation limits. Development and upgrade works for sewers, drinking water pipelines, internal roads, and drainage networks have been approved in Dhankot, Daulatabad, Dhumsapur, Maidawas, and New Palam Vihar Colony. These projects represent a significant step towards providing urban-level facilities in rural areas.

Modernization of Street Lighting and Sanitation Infrastructure

Under the modernization of the street light system in various parts of the city, CCMS panels will be installed, leading to improved monitoring and energy efficiency. The development, upgrade, and beautification of secondary collection points in several areas have also been approved under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Furthermore, the development of Atal Park and Atal Smriti Kendra in memory of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Dharmpur village has also been approved.

According to Mayor Rajrani Malhotra, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram is committed to the overall development of the city. The projects approved in the Finance and Contracts Committee meeting are directly related to the basic amenities of the citizens. Strengthening the sewer, road, drainage, and drinking water systems will provide significant relief to the people. Our endeavor is to ensure that the development works are completed with quality and within the stipulated timeframe, so that Gurugram can move forward as a better and more organized city.

According to Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, necessary instructions are being issued to the concerned departments for the implementation of the approved projects. Technical quality, transparency, and timely completion are our priorities. In areas where there have been problems such as waterlogging, sewer overflow, or road damage, a clear improvement will be visible after the completion of these works. The Municipal Corporation will ensure regular monitoring of the development works.
