MoU will allow cooperation between KATECH and ICAT in regard to
-Development in the field of future automobile technology
-India CMVR certification
Gurugram : International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH), Republic of Korea, to enhance the Indo-Korea collaboration for India CMVR certification and related development in the field of future automobile technology.
PopThe MoU was signed by Saurabh Dalela, Director- ICAT, India and Shri Jong-sik Youn, Vice President, Testing-Certification R&D Department, KATECH, Republic of Korea in the presence of other senior officials from both organizations.
On this occasion Shri Dalela stated, “future of automotive technologies are intensifying and are driven by shifts toward electrification and eco-friendliness. This MoU will help to strengthen that through collaborative effort of ICAT & KATECH”
Shri Jong-sik Youn from KATECH said, “The Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH) is pleased to reaffirm its commitment to strengthening cooperation between Korea and India in the field of automotive testing and certification. Through the MoU with India’s International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), KATECH aims to promote high standards of safety, quality, and technical excellence”
KATECH is a Korean non-profit research institute dedicated to research & development of vehicle technologies applicable to real-world industries through partnerships with various companies.

ICAT is a leading world class automotive testing, certification, homologation, R&D and Design & Engineering service provider, is one of the divisions of NAB (National Automotive Board), an autonomous body under Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), Govt. of India.
ICAT, Manesar is an independent Testing Agencies notified by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India for Testing and Certification of Automobiles and their critical safety components in Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR).
