Ayodhya, March 23 : “Kurukshetra with Gyan Mandir is going to be the spiritual capital of the globe for all times to come with the global spiritual environment as a natural environment free from pollution of all kinds and global warming,” opined Former Vice Chancellor and Founder Needonomics School of Thought Professor M.M. Goel. He was addressing an online webinar organised by Dr Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University Ayodhya (UP) on the occasion of the 113th birth anniversary of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia on the topic ‘ Ram Manohar Lohia and Gita-based street SMART model for Swarnim Bharat: A Tribute’ today. Prof. Pratibha Goyal Vice-Chancellor presided over the function. Prof. Vinod Srivastava convenor of the event delivered a welcome address and presented citations on the achievements of Prof. M.M . Goel.

To pay a tribute to Dr Ram Mohan Lohia -a socialist icon on the 113th birth anniversary, we should understand his economic thoughts with relevance for Swarnim Bharat with butterfly effect- a small change at one place in a complex system can have large effects elsewhere

To pay real tribute to Lohia who believed in democracy and socialism as the two sides of the same coin, we certainly need preferential treatment to Indian women in terms of empowerment for creating an egalitarian society in Bharat to be Swarnim towards 2047, said Prof. Goel.

According to Lohia “if socialism is to be defined in two words then they are equality and prosperity, explained Prof Goel.

Dr Lohia believed if democracy is organised on the principles of socialism, both freedom of mind and economic security to the individual can be attained, told Prof. Goel.

Three movements suggested by Lohia for solving food problems during famine are sound in theory but impracticable, unmanageable and undesirable in practice at that time calling for needo-consumption today, believes Prof. Goel.

For Swarnim Bharat, we need to become street SMART (simple, moral, action-oriented, responsive and transparent) in tune with the economic thoughts of Dr Lohia, told Prof Goel.
