All Participants Pledged not to use Plastic Bags to Preserve ‘Hari Bhari Vasundhara’

LPS Organises Awareness Campaign on ‘Say No To Plastic Bags’ 2Gurugram : Lions Public School Sector 10 A organised an awareness campaign on ‘Say No To Plastic Bags’ under the project ‘Save Mother Earth’, initiated by Ex-Chairman Lion D. V. Taneja on Saturday 7 July  . The Chairman of the school Lion Vijay Budhiraja ,presiding officer of the program with other lion dignitaries were also present on this  occasion. The programme coordinator and Principal Renu Verma started the program with the introduction about the hazardous effects of plastic on environment that was organised in Lions Public School Sec-10 A, Gurugram campus. 

Welcoming all  guests and participants Sr. Principal Dr. Neelima Prakash urged not to use plastic as they choke the mother earth and make it barren.LPS Organises Awareness Campaign on ‘Say No To Plastic Bags’ 3

Speaking on the occasion Lion D.V Taneja, Project Chairman and expert of ‘Save Mother Earth’ informed the gathering that the plastic has conquered the peaks of mountain to the ocean surface. It is high time we must wake-up to the problem otherwise it will be too late . He urged everyone to actively participate in the sensitive issue of environment and also encouraged everyone to keep their environment clean and healthy to lead a better life. He distributed Jute Bags for this cause as a suitable and nature friendly alternative to poly bags.

According to him under his supervision the Red cross society is working on many projects among those important are to stop ‘Female Foeticide ‘and banning ‘Polythene’. He supported the cause of the project ‘Save Mother Earth’ and also gave valuable tips to lead a happy and healthy life.

School Chairman Lion Vijay Budhiraja while expressing his concern about the use of hazardous plastic urged the teachers to motivate the students to change their Tiffin Box from plastic to steel which will help in curbing the use of plastic.LPS Organises Awareness Campaign on ‘Say No To Plastic Bags’ 5

The program was attended by Members of Lions Club Gurgaon City, Vice Principal, Ms. Indu Kaushik, Co-ordinator Ms. Kiran Bala, Deputy Co-Ordinator Ms. Anita Wadhwa, Controller of Examination Ms. Aruna Behl, Exam HOD Ms. Poonam Gavri, English HOD Ms. Mamta Shridhar, Ms. Seema Syal and Staff members of Lions Public School, Sec-10 A, Gurgaon. Ms Indu Kaushik assured the School Chairman that his suggestion will be seriously implemented. Everyone pledged not to use plastic bags to preserve ‘Hari Bhari Vasundhara’.

He said that such programs encourage and remind us of our duties towards our nation and environment. He opined that it needs a collective effort that is our social responsibility . We can do a lot if we decide by heart and soul . he said that it has become a world wide problem. Hence it can not be solved by only institutionalized effort but can by socialized dedication and awareness.
