Fake ₹500 notes worth ₹10.50 lakh and 7.076 kg heroin valued at nearly ₹50 crore recovered in separate operations
New Delhi : The Rohini District Police have achieved major breakthroughs against networks involved in counterfeit currency and narcotics, arresting eight accused in two separate operations and making significant recoveries, police said.
According to Additional DCP Rohini Tanushree, the operations were conducted under the leadership of DCP Rohini Shashank Jaiswal.
Counterfeit Currency Syndicate Busted
In the first operation, the DIU/Rohini busted a counterfeit currency syndicate and arrested four accused.
Police recovered suspected counterfeit ₹500 currency notes with a face value of approximately ₹10.50 lakh, along with printing equipment and digital devices allegedly used in the operation.
Interstate Heroin Network Unearthed
In a separate operation, the Special Staff busted an interstate heroin supply-cum-manufacturing network, arresting another four accused.
The operation led to the recovery of 7.076 kg of heroin, including 6.275 kg of freshly manufactured heroin. The seized narcotics have an estimated value of approximately ₹50 crore in the international market.
Police said further investigation is underway in both cases to establish the wider network, identify other individuals involved and determine the source and intended distribution channels of the recovered counterfeit currency and narcotics.
